John Edwards memorial collection, 1972.

Recording of an interview with Sara Carter (1898-1979), Anglo- American early country performer, focusing on the Carter Family's interaction with Jimmie Rodgers (1897-1933) at the Bristol, Tenn., recording sessions of 1927. Sara Carter gives her impressions of Rodgers's singing and performing style as well as his place in the history of country music, and discusses two old-time music duets she recorded with Rodgers in Louisville, Ky., in 1931. A re-recording of one of the songs, "Wonderful City," is included.
